Delorean & Ayrton Senna

The spanish band Delorean recently announced the release of their debut album: Subiza hits the european shelves on March 15 (no plans for a US release so far). For those who are not familiar with the band, they were responsible for one of the best EPs of 2009, entitled Ayrton Senna EP. Delorean started as a punk band in the basque region of Spain, then they got into eletronic music and moved to Barcelona
Ayrton Senna was a Brazilian racing driver and three-time Formula One world champion, who was killed in a crash while leading the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix.
Actually, the record was inspired by Ayrton Senna's life, who used racing as a metaphor for life.
Mika Miko & Xuxa

2009 was also the year of the release of Mika Miko's "official" debut, We Be Xuxa , as the band has been sharing their music on 7” and cassettes for the last 6 years. Mika Miko was known for its frenetic live performances and energetic 2-minute-long songs. By the way, We Be Xuxa lasts only 23 minutes. I used the past tense to refer to the band, because 2009 was also the year of their break-up.
Xuxa is a Brazilian singer, children's television show host and former model. She dated Ayrton Senna for two years and they broke up in 1992. After their break up, Ayrton said in many interviews (such as for Playboy Magazine) that Xuxa was the only woman he wanted to marry after his first wife.
According to an interview, the band said "Xuxa's shows are on TV in the United States too! Michelle used to watch her and Jenna was once in her studio audience when she filmed her children's show in Los Angeles."
