The interviewers

I've always thought about creating this post, but it never happened. Probably, because I'm too lazy. Anyway, most bands hate interviews and that might be due to the lack of creativity by the people that come up with the questions. It's always "tell us your influences" or " how did you meet?" or "explain the name of your band" or all the 3 combined.

But,people of the world, I know it's hard to believe but good journalists actually exist. And those are the ones I wanna show you!

Nardwar the Human Seviette
This guy doesn't get the credits he deserves. He's by far my favourite interviewer and was an inspiration for me when I was at uni (I graduated in Journalism).
You can read about him on his official website

John Norris
He's best known for his work at MTV US, but, please, don't judge him. He's actually a pretty good reporter and has done an amazing work with a website called Noisevox

Konbini
The idea is simple: fans send their questions, the bands answer them and record the whole interview. The section is called The Auto Interview

Muses & Divas IX

Lalai Luna
Multitasking woman

Why Lalai?
She's a thousand women in one. A modern and brazilian version of wonderwoman? Maybe. Lalai is a DJ, promoter, responsible for one of the country's coolest parties (CREW) and for bringing great bands to play in São Paulo. You'll see her at the most important parties and festivals of the world (like SXSW where I met her!)

full name: Lalai Luna
occupation: partner of Remix Social Ideas, promoter & DJ. I produce the parties CREW and PostiT in São Paulo and I made a lot of people happy by bringing cool artists to São Paulo.
where do you live: São Paulo
favourite gig: it's a tough one. my top 5 are: Radiohead, NIN, Arcade Fire, Foo Fighters and Patti Smith
best party: plenty.... but, definitely, one of them was Rock'n and All, that I did with Mixhell and Soulwax DJ set.
favourite movie: you realized I don't have a FAVOURITE in anything, right?! A movie I like to watch is 24 hour party people (and now the Foo Fighters documentary, that I'm digesting)
a song: House of Cards (Radiohead), Best of You (FF), Closer (NIN), The Suburbs (Arcade Fire), many more... I guess I'm feeling a bit nostalgic today.
wishlist (max. 3): see aurora borealis, have dinner with Patti Smith and live in Paris for a long stay.
what turns you on: good music, good books and my boyfriend
what turns you off: boring people and pedantry
what have you been listening to: all the GB of new things I discovered at the last SXSW, but also Wasting Light, by Foo Fighters and a bit of folk.
addictions: magazines, trips and music (all together is even better)
next project: We Music 2 (www.wemusic.com.br)
last purchase: a dress to die for from Issa
last time you felt ashamed of something that someone else did: I can't remember (that's good!)
I love and no-one knows: I've been in love with Viva City
who would you like to be best friends with?: Patti Smith
if I could do something else instead of answering this Q&A, what would it be? this exact moment, it would be having dinner in good company.
now I wanna: escape to a place without contact with the world.
final say? All right, brain, I don't like you and you don't like me - so let's just do this and I'll get back to killing you with beer." Homer Simpson

Chi-chi-chi le-le-le. Viva Chile!

I just got back from Chile where I had the chance to hang out with the family, enjoy the very first south american edition of Lollapalooza and visit Santiago, Valparaíso and Viña del mar. Curious as I am, I tried to read as many local newspapers and music magazines as possible. By doing that, I found 5 AMAZING artists from Pablo Neruda's home country. Here they are:

Dënver

Astro

Portugal

Javiera Mena

Protistas

I'll be forever thankful to Allen, a salesman from Waterloo Records in Austin, for recommending Kurt´s album Smoke Ring for My Halo. great album! People, go to the nearest record store and buy it. In the meantime, see Fucked Up's Damian interviewing Kurt on Muchmusic blog .
